Barbarian Rugby Under 16’s Win Again

The Barbarian under 16’s travelled to Valencia on Staurday to take on the division 2 league leaders Valencia in what was going to be a very hard fought match

Having been beaten by them in the opening game of the season by over 50 points, the BaBa’s turned the tables this time around running out winners 19-14

The young Barbarians defence was immense in a game which went down to the wire. What a turnaround for this team , now beating both the first and second placed teams in the last 3 weeks. A credit to all the players who work hard week in and week out and give 100% when they take the pitch.

This weekend sees a full programme for the BaBa’s.

The Under 14’s take on Alicante RC saturday morning in Denia at 10.am.fighting for a play off place. This is followed in the afternoon with the Seniors playing at home to Orihuela in the final match of the regular season. If they win, they move forward to the playoffs as league winners and a guaranteed home match in the semi’s.

Sunday morning, again in Denia, the Under 16’s play against Elche at 11.30 to continue battling for a play off place in the Under 16 league.
Spectators are welcome to all the Barbarian games and to visit our new club bar after matches to enjoy socialising with players and families.

Barbarians Rugby Under 16’s Go Close Against Alicante At The Weekend

Although losing to a strong Alicante under 16 team at the weekend, the Barbarians put up a great performance, pushing the opposition all the way before finally going down 31-19 after conceding 2 tries in the last 10 minutes of the game.

Considering the Ba Ba’s lost to the same team 65-0 at the start of the seson, it just shows how far this young mixed team have progressed in the last 4 months,

The 6 leadies in the team again put in some great performances against a bigger all male team and in fact were dominant in the early scrum exchanges.

The team captained by Winder McConell Mulet continues to improve in all aspects of the game and with «flying» Marc Erades at full back, always poses a danger to opposing defensive lines.All in all a great team performance.

The club is also pleased to announce the opning of our new club house/bar that has recently been acquired and is located only 10 minutes from the ground.

It will prove to be an important venue in the clubs move to offer a full club playing and social environment in years to come. More details will follow during the week.

Los Barbarians sub16, estuvieron a Punto de vencer al Alicante. A pesar de perder ante el potente Alicante, mostraron un gran nivel de juego y se lo pusieron difícil al rival, que se impuso por 19-31, gracias a 2 ensayos que anotaron en los últimos 10 minutos de juego.

Hay que indicar que en el partido de ida, los Barbarians perdieron por un contundente 65-0, por lo que la evolución y mejoría en el juego de los locales es evidente. Los Barbarians que alinean hasta 6 chicas en el equipo, no se lo ponen nada fácil a los equipos rivales y estas bravas guerreras, no se arrugan lo más mínimo ante sus oponentes, sean del género que sean.

El equipo capitaneado por Winder McConell Mulet, continúa progresando en todas las etapas de juego y el fullback Marc Erades, siempre pone en peligro a sus oponentes con sus continuos lances, buscando un rugby dinámico. El Club, también está encantado de la apertura de su nueva sede social y el tercer tiempo de este partido fue su primer acto inaugural.

Un lugar, en donde se podrán reunir todos los amantes del rugby, tanto jugadores, como familiares y amigos, para celebrar terceros tiempos, ver partidos de rugby y otros actos sociales que irá organizando el Club. En breve se irá informando de los próximos eventos.
